Support the National Plan to End Parkinson’s Act
Last updated on October 25, 2023.
The National Plan to End Parkinson’s is now before Congress. One important action you can do is to contact our legislators and ask them to support the Act.
- The Parkinson’s Foundation has provided an excellent sample script (PDF , 112K) if you choose to call or write. They also provide good hints for how to tell your story.
- The Michael J. Fox Foundation provides a simple on-line interface to generate an email: Urge Congress to Support the National Plan to End Parkinson’s. The Fox Foundation also provides a useful Advocacy ToolKit.
The bill has been introduced in both the Senate and the House during the 118th Congress (2023-2024).
New Mexico has a very accessible and receptive delegation in Congress. You may already know or be in touch with one or more of them.
Let’s see if we can get every member of our delegation to be become a co-sponsor (Senate) or a supporter (House)! In the list below, a ✅ indicates a cosponsor. A indicates that the member has agreed to sign on, but is not yet listed in the Congressional Record.
- ✅ Sen. Martin Heinrich, Co-Sponsor
- Sen. Ben Ray Luján
- ✅ Rep. Teresa Leger-Fernandez (Congressional District 3, Co-Sponsor)
- Rep. Melanie Stansbury (Congressional District 1)
- Rep. Gabriel Vasquez (Congressional District 2)
