  • December 2024 Events

    This December, we will not hold our usual in-person and Zoom calls. Instead we encourage everyone to attend the December 7, 2024 PD Clubhouse.

    PD Clubhouse: Holiday Party and Crafts
    Come one, come all to the 2024 Holiday Party! Supplies will be provided to create a holiday craft.

    We’ll resume the regular meeting schedule in January with one modification: the Care Partners call will be held on January 8, 2024.

  • New Caregiver’s Support Group Announced

    The Memory Care Alliance, one of our partners in Working Together for Wellness has announced a new, bi-monthly, online Caregivers Support Group.

    will guide a Zoom-based Caregiver’s Support Group on the first and third Thursday of each month. The meeting is open to caregivers and to those living alone with Parkinson’s. Please contact () for further information or assistance.

  • Stress-Busting Program For Care Givers

    Next session begins on January 7, 2025

    The Stress-Busting Program for Family Caregivers provides education and support for family caregivers of people with chronic illness. The program teaches stress management strategies and ways to cope better with the stress of being a caregiver. The class meets on Tuesdays at 10am or 1pm, and lasts for 9 weeks, 90 minutes/week.

  • Parkinson’s Coaching

    Karen St. Clair is offering individual coaching for those navigating life with Parkinson’s (PD), either personally or as a caregiver to someone with PD. Her flyer is posted on the website.

  • Working Together for Wellness

    “Working together for Wellness” is a collaborative community grant funded by the Parkinson’s Foundation to the Memory Care Alliance. The grant includes funding for Rock Steady Boxing and our group. Our portion of the grant will help to fund our outreach, website, and the resumption of in-person meetings. This was one of two community grants awarded this year to organizations located in New Mexico. The other was entitled “Pickleball Is Perfect 4 People With Parkinsons” which is funded through the New Mexico Arizona Pickleball Association. A press release was in the New Mexican on September 1.

    Two programs, available free-of-charge to our membership, are already in preparation. The first, Grieving the Death of a Loved One is for those dealing with a recent loss. It will meet for six Fridays in November and December. Contact at to reserve a place. You can view the flyer here (PDF).

    The second, Dealing with Grief and Loss while Living with Parkinson’s Disease, is currently slated for six weeks in February and March of 2025.
